OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2015. Total is planning to close its 220,000 barrel per day Donges refinery in France for roughly two months beginning on May 4, the company said in a document released on its website.

The work will last until June 25, the company said, and will close all the units at the refinery.

The company has budgeted 92 million euros (\\$97.04 million) for the work, including a project to lower emissions at the site by 30 percent.

Union sources told Reuters last month that the French oil major planned to invest in the Donges refinery on the Atlantic coast in order to make it profitable.

Total plans to outline its restructuring plan for French refining in the spring.
