OREANDA-NEWS. Day 1 of the EWEA Offshore 2015 conference and exhibition provided a great start for Siemens as well as the industry as a whole. Kicking off by the opening session, EWEA Chairman and Siemens Wind Power CEO Markus Tacke spoke about the movement underway to strengthen ties across companies. Using the tagline of #UnitedIndustry, Tacke noted that all participants are both competitors and colleagues. When united, all involved companies stand stronger when taking the steps necessary to lower costs and develop the industry.

Royal flair was added to Siemens stand E-D31 with the visit of HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, who was presented with a table-top sized Siemens D7 wind turbine model.

Panel discussions where Siemens Wind Power Market Unit Offshore CEO Michael Hannibal participated in also followed the #UnitedIndustry theme, garnering quotes in multiple media sources. Ken Soerensen, Senior Vice President of Siemens Wind Power Service dug deeply into an innovative new vessel class for offshore operation and maintenance at a conference session focused on Supply Chain, Logistics, and O&M.
