OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the local authorities in the regions where the temperature regimes afford, to urgently approve a decision “to lower the temperature of the coolant and stop heating the air". The Head of Government announced at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, March 11.

He stressed that according to the law, such decisions is the purview of local authorities.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that three weeks ago he had commissioned Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko to hold a conference call to "bring order to the heat supplies in the regions".

"Outside it is 14 above zero, and the batteries warm at 50. I have the impression that certain heat supply companies are deliberately interested in warming up the atmosphere and then putting into the bills of Ukrainian citizens for expensive heating", he stressed.

"I demand from the local government answerability. To immediately take a decision in those regions where the temperature regimes already afford, to terminate heating of the atmosphere and sending to the Ukrainians the bills none knows for what,” stressed the Head of Government.

Moreover, Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine to report towards which heating utility companies there had been taken decisions "to save funds and natural gas". "I ask the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry to take an active part in it," added the Prime Minister.
