Tele2 subscribers make 229 million phone calls
Tele2 subscribers traditionally use mobile service more actively on holidays. International Women’s Day and Defender of the Fatherland Day are comparable with New Year in terms of performed calls and delivered text messages.
New records were set in 2015: Tele2 clients sent 108 mn SMS and made 124 mn calls on 8 March. Compared to the last year, subscriber activity increased 14% and 27% correspondently. Most of the delivered SMS account for Nizhniy Novgorod, Kemerovo and Chelyabinsk. Those living in Tomsk turned out to be most talkative.
On Defender of the Fatherland Day the number of the delivered messages increased almost 10% compared to the last year and totaled 47 mn, whereas a number of phone calls surged 35% up to 105 mn. Chelyabinsk residents were most active in delivering text messages and Tomsk residents hit records in terms of made phone calls.
Unlike 2014, phone calls turned out to be the most popular way to congratulate loved ones. A Tele2 subscriber made 4 calls on average, each of them two minutes long. However, the Tele2 network has successfully carried heavy loads. This resulted from systematic technical development over the year and preliminary preparations for peak traffic.
