OREANDA-NEWS. BASF will present the European research and construction project BuildTog (Building Together,  www.buildtog.eu) at MIPIM (Le marche international des professionnels de l'immobilier) event in Cannes, France at booth C21.B7. Aim of the project is to create solutions for a new generation of multi-dwelling units in several European countries combining top energy performance with cost-efficient construction and high-quality architecture.

MIPIM visitors are invited to attend "The Innovation Forum" on Wednesday, March 11 at which representatives of BuildTog will speak on "BuildTog - Affordable buildings in nearly-zero energy performance". Opportunities to join BuildTog will also be presented.

BuildTog is a collaboration between the European Housing Network EURHONET, the French architect Nicolas Michelin and his architecture firm A/NM/A, together with the German energy efficiency consultancy LUWOGE consult and BASF, the world's leading chemical company.

Participation in BuildTog gives partners an opportunity to familiarize themselves with ways to achieve the "Nearly Zero Energy Building" performance which will be mandatory for all new buildings in Europe from 2020. This methodology may be transferred from new build to retrofit projects. Moreover, the BuildTog methodology and its implementation via several construction projects offer an excellent opportunity for housing companies and investors to implement new construction solutions.

There are currently seven BuildTog projects underway in Germany, Sweden and France. The project in Darmstadt, Germany, was inaugurated in June 2014. Another project in Lieusaint, France was completed in December 2014. Additional projects in Chalons and Arras, France, Orebro, Sweden and Bremen, Germany are at development stage. Further partners interested in participating in current and future projects are welcome to join BuildTog.
