Investments in the creation of Kaliningrad cluster of full-profile automotive industries can be reduced 2.5 times, Senior Vice President of "Avtotor Holding", Vitaly Shipov, informed the agency "Interfax". "If earlier our investment estimated at 150 billion Rubles in the project of car cluster, according to a new plan they will be about 60 billion Rubles”, - he said.

The CEO of the holding, Alexander Sorokin, in his turn, said that the adjustment of plans related with the economic situation and the fall in demand for cars. "If in 2016 we have planned to build the plant with a capacity of 150,000 cars per a year, and in 2018 – with the capacity of 250 thousand cars, but now these plans have changed. In the first stage, we will build a plant for 100 thousand cars, while in the second stage - three plants with a capacity of 50 thousand vehicles", - he said.

"As a result, automotive cluster is designed to produce 250,000 vehicles per a year. The number of workers at its plants will be more than 4,000 people ", - the newspaper" Vedomosti” cited Mr.Sorokin. He noted that the localization of production in 2020 should be 30%, and by 2022 this figure will reach 50%.

In the autumn of 2013 "Avtotor" and Magna presented a project to create a cluster in an area of over 1,200 hectares. Near Kaliningrad it was presumed the construction until 2020 of five car plants of full cycle, up to 16 plants for the production of automotive components, as well as objects of transport and logistics infrastructure.
