OREANDA-NEWS. The new crossover Lada XRAY, the production of which is to be started in December of this year, will receive three power units.

According to the newspaper "AvtoSreda", the first engine from Renault, is the 1.6L H4MK engine with a capacity of 114 hp, it will be assembled in Togliatti with a high level of localization. The second motor – is VAZ 16-valve 1.6-liter with a power unit of 106 hp, which will be paired with the gearbox from Renault. "This gearbox has a good level of vibro-acoustic properties and it is very easy to switch. Therefore, we decided that we would use this box and in our cars”, - said the director of the project Lada XRAY, Oleg Grunenkov. The third engine, designed for the new crossover Lada XRAY, - is also the development of AvtoVAZ: 123-hp with 1.8-liter unit. It will be equipped with an automated manual transmission, also created by AvtoVAZ. "It is two-pedal version, where we will use as a manual mode, so automatic mode switching. Moreover, our experts are working on the automatic mode that it will have two options: option "Economy" and option "Sport". This is very interesting for our customers. I think it will be very attractive for a wide range of customers”, - said Oleg Grunenkov.

Recall that the crossover Lada XRAY is based on Renault Sandero. The start of series production of "SUV" is scheduled for December of 2015, the start of sales - at the beginning of 2016.
