OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2015. Colombia produced 1.03 million 60-kg bags of washed arabica coffee in February, an 18 percent increase from a year ago, the private National Coffee Growers' Federation said on Sunday, as widespread tree renewal continues to boost yields.

Exports rose 8 percent in February from the same month a year ago to 1.07 million bags, the federation said.

Colombia's coffee production has rebounded after being hit by excessively wet weather for several seasons and by roya which forced growers to replant their farms with trees resistant to the fungus. Production has been rising steadily as more of those new trees reach a productive age.

Twelve-month production from March 2014 through February totaled 12.37 million bags, up 10 percent from the year-before period.
