Japan’s MHPS wins Indian coal power plant deal
MHPS will provide two supercritical-pressure coal-fired boilers and two steam turbines, for an undisclosed sum, for the 660MW No.1 and No.2 units at the Shree Singaji power plant, about 625km northeast of Mumbai. The No.1 unit is scheduled to come on stream in April 2018, followed by the No.2 unit in August the same year.
MHPS will supply the boilers and steam turbines through a joint-venture company set up in 2007 with Indian construction firm Larsen & Toubro. The joint venture has supplied 13 supercritical-pressure coal-fired boilers and steam turbines in India, including the latest deal.
