OREANDA-NEWS. When Kaspersky Lab North America opened its doors in Woburn, MA in early 2005, it was a four person operation. Today the company announced the tenth anniversary of business operations in North America, employing nearly 300 professionals throughout North America, based out of its Woburn, MA headquarters and four additional offices in Seattle, Washington, D.C., San Jose and Miami. Globally, Kaspersky Lab operates in almost 200 countries and territories, provides protection for over 400 million users worldwide and more than 270,000 businesses, and has grown to become the world’s largest privately held vendor of endpoint protection solutions.

Beginning as a security start-up, Kaspersky Lab has followed a simple yet unwavering growth strategy and mission that continues to serve as a model of success for technology start-ups around the world. Kaspersky Lab has earned its reputation for easily-managed, world-class protection by following a different growth strategy than its competitors, developing its security solutions in-house, as opposed to acquiring and assembling an assortment of different products. With all technologies designed by the company’s own R&D experts, Kaspersky Lab’s products are built from the ground-up to work together seamlessly and efficiently, to maximize security efficacy while reducing the total cost of ownership for customers.

Significant Growth & Momentum
The company’s substantial growth throughout its ten years is a testament to its successful strategy and mission. Kaspersky Lab North America reported a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 54.44 percent for the 2005-2014 time period.  Continuing this momentum throughout its ten years of operation, in 2014, Kaspersky Lab North America reported double digit growth year-over-year (YoY).

Commitment to North America Market, Customers & Partners
From its inception Kaspersky Lab North America has been committed to serving the North America market, and has grown its partner and customer base substantially over the last ten years. The company remains dedicated to a 100 percent channel strategy, building its North America B2B partner ecosystem from five partners in 2005 to 3,500 partners throughout North America today, with over 500 new partners joining in the last year. Kaspersky Lab recently announced enhancements to its award-winning Partner Program, further expanding its commitment and investment to its North America partners.

In addition to its partner community, Kaspersky Lab has a significant customer base in North America, from home users to SMBs and the enterprise. On the B2C side of the business the company has over 6 million active customers in North America; and on the B2B side, over the last four years, an average of about 20,000 customers in North America have purchased Kaspersky Lab solutions. In April 2014, Kaspersky Lab announced its plans for expansion in the enterprise IT security market, and by the close of 2014, Kaspersky Lab North America reported 35 percent YoY growth in enterprise sales which amounted to more than 20 percent of overall B2B sales, solidifying its presence within that segment.

On-going Information Sharing With Government Institutions
Not only does Kaspersky Lab North America protect vast amounts of consumers and businesses with its security solutions, the company also actively shares its latest research findings and major cyber-threat discoveries with multiple branches of the United States federal government by providing both regular briefings on developments in the overall threat landscape, as well as briefings on specific attacks as significant cybersecurity developments occur, further delivering on the company’s commitment to serve the security needs of individuals, companies and governments worldwide.

Industry Recognition
The company’s growing partner and customer base, ongoing information sharing of research and educational efforts are a true testament to its commitment to ensuring cybersecurity advancements and to its award-winning security solutions.  Most recently, in the fourth quarter of 2014, Kaspersky Lab solutions earned top scores in each of 22 tests carried out by independent research companies, continuing a trend of best-in-class protection performance. Additionally, in Q4 2014, Kaspersky Lab products proved to be the most effective solutions for home users, small businesses and enterprises respectively in internet security product testing carried out by Dennis Technology Labs. Furthermore, in all four quarters of 2014, Kaspersky Lab security solutions earned the highest-rated AAA certifications from Dennis Technology Labs.

In January 2015, Kaspersky Lab was again named a “Leader” in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms. The company was placed in the leader’s quadrant for the fourth year in a row based on both the “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute” categories.  The Magic Quadrant results are yet another proof point that Kaspersky Lab has the best endpoint security product on the market, which in combination with its global market share growth and increasing brand recognition makes it the “go-to” choice for endpoint protection. This prestigious recognition, combined with strong momentum and revenue growth, and a growing customer base, demonstrate that despite continued economic pressure on the overall endpoint security market, Kaspersky Lab North America continues to thrive.

Kaspersky Lab North America will kick-off its ten year celebration with a press luncheon with Chairman and CEO Eugene Kaspersky in Boston, MA on Monday, March 9. Eugene will then embark on a week-long tour of various North American cities on the East Coast.
