OREANDA-NEWS. "GAZ Group" plans to pass the first electric buses for test operation to Moscow in March. The new model with a power reserve of up to 280 km was made on the basis of the bus LiAZ 5292, assembled with the participation of specialists of Scania, writes "Za rulem.RF."

"In Moscow route under test operation, without passengers, electric bus can be operated immediately after the presenting for "GAZ Group" in March," - explained in the press service of the automaker.

Electric bus has 180 kW induction motor, inverter of traction motor with the regenerative braking and energy storage, which is adapted for use in the winter. Battery is fully charged within 6.5 hours - to recharge them it requires a network connection 380 V. The length of the model is 12 meters, weight - more than 18 tons. Interior accommodates 90 passengers; it is heated by a diesel heater. The maximum speed of the electric bus is 80 km / h.

Mosgortrans planned previously to start the procurement of electric buses in 2014. It is expected that they will be working on some of the historical streets of the city. Recall that "NefAZ" (the part of "KAMAZ") in 2012 experimented with electric buses. The company was even able to pass the certification of this new vehicle, but so far such products into serial production were not launched.
