OREANDA-NEWS. Singapore Exchange (SGX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tan Boon Gin  as Chief Regulatory Officer effective 15 June 2015. Mr Tan is currently Director of the Commercial Affairs Department.

Following the departure of Richard Teng on 28 February 2015, in the interim, Yeo Lian Sim, special adviser to SGX and previously Chief Risk and Regulatory Officer, will be appointed as Chief Regulatory Officer from 1 March 2015 to 14 June 2015.

Mr Tan was previously a Justices’ Law Clerk at Singapore’s Supreme Court and a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney-General's Chambers, where he specialised in corruption and white-collar crime, before leaving to practise at Messrs Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. 

He later served as a District Judge at Singapore’s Subordinate Courts before being seconded to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he held appointments as Director of the Enforcement Division, Director of the Corporate Finance Division and Executive Director of the Investment Intermediaries Department. 

He is an advocate and solicitor and holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School.
Mr Tan was awarded the Public Administration (Silver) Medal in 2010.
