Wood Group provides automation engineering services for ExxonMobil Chemical petrochemical project
OREANDA-NEWS. Wood Group is providing process control systems detailed engineering, procurement and fabrication services for the multi-billion dollar expansion project by ExxonMobil Chemical Company at the Baytown and Mont Belvieu plants near Houston. The work is being performed by Wood Group Mustang’s (WG Mustang’s) Automation and Control business unit.
WG Mustang Automation and Control’s multi-million dollar project scope includes procurement, integration and packaging of the distributed control systems, safety instrumented systems, analyzers, information and telecommunications systems, and other associated equipment that will help the expanded plants to run safely, efficiently and within environment regulations.
“ExxonMobil Chemical involved our team early in the project to establish interfaces and ensure alignment and cooperation with the EPC contractors,” explained Richard Seale, WG Mustang Automation and Control president. “This early engagement is resulting in a fit-for-purpose design that will ensure the automation systems provide ExxonMobil Chemical with the best-possible operability and cost-effective solutions.”
