NAB donates up to $350,000 to support cyclone affected communities in QLD
OREANDA-NEWS. NAB has today announced it will donate up to \$350,000 to support the recovery of communities affected by Cyclone Marcia.
NAB is donating \$100,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund and will also match every dollar its employees, customers and community groups donate through NAB branches or internet banking – up to the value of \$50,000.
In addition, NAB will also donate up to \$200,000 towards local communities through the NAB Community Relief Fund, a recovery grants program that will be available to a range of not-for-profit organisations in affected areas.
NAB General Manager Retail in Queensland, Dion Crowe, said that the donation sits alongside NAB’s customer relief measures for its customers, ensuring that the bank is offering Queensland the help it needs as it recovers.
“Our customers, staff and communities need our help as they assess the damage and start the difficult task of recovery. The coming weeks and months will be challenging but we want them to know that we are there to support them as best we can,” Mr Crowe said.
On Friday NAB made customer relief measures available for cyclone affected customers in Queensland and the Northern Territory including:
- Suspending home and personal loan repayments
- Waiving costs and charges for withdrawing term deposits early
- Waiving home loan and personal loan fees and charges
- Credit card and personal loan relief where appropriate
- Support to restructure other existing bank facilities
- Provision of support and counselling through NAB’s independent provider
Anyone wishing to contribute to the recovery effort can make a donation at NAB branches across Australia, or through internet banking online.
