KYOCERA to Exhibit Ultra-Ruggedized “TORQUE” Smartphone for the First Time in Europe at MWC 2015
OREANDA-NEWS. Kyocera Corporation invites you to visit its booth (Hall 5, 5D09) at GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 External Link to see its first public showcase of the company’s debut phone for the European market ? the ultra-rugged* TORQUE (KC-S701) smartphone which launches this spring. Also, Kyocera will feature a number of prototype devices such as a smartphone with a solar cell built into the screen, a smartphone with Windows® Phone 8.1 operating system, and other ruggedized design concept devices. The company’s booth will exhibit its wide-ranging line of handsets from North America and Japan, as well as original mobile technologies ? including demonstrations of its proprietary Smart Sonic Receiver speaker-less audio technology. MWC takes place from March 2-5 in Barcelona, Spain.
Kyocera’s TORQUE smartphone will launch this spring in Europe
Among the multiple concept devices Kyocera will demonstrate is a smartphone with a solar-power-generating display. Unlike solar-powered mobile devices on the market today with solar cells mounted on the phones’ bodies, Kyocera’s solar-powered prototype smartphone generates power by integrating SUNPARTNER’s transparent Wysips® Crystal External Link. Without impacting the phone’s looks or industrial design, the power-generating display enables battery charging even when far from an electrical outlet, allowing an extended charge in emergency situations or outdoor adventures. True to its long track record of waterproof and ruggedized handsets, Kyocera’s booth will feature toughness tests (water submersion, drop test) and future ruggedized technologies which visitors can enjoy.
