OREANDA-NEWS. In the first month of 2015, the sales of Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant amounted to 2,267 units -up to 3% compared to the same period last year.

The sales of UAZ cars, including the exports, have increased in January 2015 by 3% compared to the previous year's figures. During the reporting period, the plant sold 2,267 vehicles vs. 2,201 units a year earlier.

This growth was driven by the positive effect from the sales of cars manufactured in 2014. An important impact on maintaining the level of sales has been provided by the fleet renewal program re-launched by UAZ in 2015.

The number of cars sold under the fleet renewal program in January 2015 amounted to 1,049 units. 527 units have been purchased under trade-in scheme and 522 units - when disposing of an old vehicle.

The updated model of PATRIOT, an off-road vehicle released to the market in September 2014, was the most popular among UAZ cars sold in January. Both the exterior and interior of this model were changed. It also features additional high-tech options such as a multimedia system with rear-view camera and LED inserts for headlamps. UAZ PATRIOT has become a perfect solution not only for off-road environment but also for comfortable driving within the city. The sales of this model jumped by 32.5% amounting to 1,140 units vs. 860 cars a year earlier.
