OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2015. Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko spoke at the opening ceremony of Agri & Food Export Forum, which takes place in Kyiv on February 12-13. Agri & Food Export Forum has been organized by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and is one of the largest international platforms for representatives of the agricultural business in Ukraine. The forum involves more than 300 companies.

"Export is one of the priorities of the Government and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is making every effort to provide better conditions for business and investors. Our goal is to see Ukraine in Top 50 ranking on the ease of doing business," the Minister said, addressing the participants of the export forum.

Oleksii Pavlenko thanked the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank and other international and foreign organizations participating in working groups of the Ministry. "Working groups are very active and have a great broad representation. They show the best way in carrying out agrarian reform," the Minister noted.

Deregulation, the fight against corruption and decentralization are the main areas of reform. Open competitions involving international experts on the positions of heads of state enterprises are a practical step towards combating corruption.

Speaking about the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, the Minister explained the measures for its implementation. He also informed about Ministry’s intention to start a dialogue over increasing quotas in the EU market. In addition, further work on opening new markets in Asia and Africa is being undertaken.

The agricultural sector is the only sector in Ukraine, which showed growth during 2014 and continues to be profitable. We expect even higher export performance in 2015.
