IDGC of Centre held counterterrorism exercises at sites of Distribution Zones of Kostromaenergo
Participants of the training worked out two scenarios: the taking of hostages in the territory of the Distribution Zones and the threat of an explosion at the 110 kV substation. During the exercises, the subjects of anti-terrorist activities worked out actions with terrorist attacks at critical infrastructure, the interaction of the power engineers and operational entities to curb the threat of a terrorist attack and minimize its effects. Personnel of the Distribution Zones were practically evacuated.
"Our employees worked out properly the plan for the implementation of priority actions to curb the terrorist act. The evacuation of people was fast without panic. All reports about the situation to the branch management were made clearly and timely. In general, personnel’s actions of both Distribution Zones received positive feedback from both the management of Kostromaenergo and the law enforcement agencies," says Deputy Director for Security of the branch Alexander Korotin about the training.
The anti-terrorist training was carried out in the framework of and pursuant to the "Rules of interagency cooperation of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division and law enforcement agencies of the Kostroma region to prevent threats of criminal and subversive and terrorist nature in respect of the fuel and energy complex". The main objectives of the regulations are cooperation in information exchange and performance of checks at power facilities.
During 2015 other trainings of this kind at different energy facilities of Kostromaenergo have been scheduled.
