Belgorodenergo - winner of IDGC of Centre’s contest for the best fire-prevention condition
The main objective of the competition is improving fire safety and conducting fire prevention work among staff. The condition of IDGC of Centre’s departments was assessed on a number of criteria: the availability of fire-fighting facilities, fire security and safety automation systems, the compliance of storage of inflammable materials and substances, the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, substations and power lines, and the level of staff training.
For the second year in a row Belgorod power engineers perform the highest percentage of the presented criteria, remaining in the lead in terms of fire safety and security among 11 branches. According to the results of the contest the Belgorod branch scored 95.75% out of a hundred possible, with 0.04% ahead of Lipetskenergo. Third place with a score of 95.11% went to Kurskenergo. The percentage of compliance with the established criteria for the whole company was 94.33%, which is 2.6% higher than last year. Analysis of the final test results showed an overall reduction in the number of fires by 50% in comparison with 2013, and a significant reduction of economic damage from them. Fire safety and security in the operation of cable structures and oil-filled equipment at substations of 35-110 kV is maintained at the proper level and the requirements for entrances to buildings and facilities are fully performed.
Compliance with the rules of fire safety and security at IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division is under special control. Head of Occupational Safety and Production Control Vladimir Rusanov noted that the review competition allows to evaluate the real state of fire safety of power facilities, to develop measures to prevent fires and improve results from year to year.
