Arseniy Yatsenyuk invited the parliamentary coalition to consultations on further economic reforms in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2015. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has invited the leaders of the parliamentary coalition to consultations with the Cabinet of Ministers to tackle further economic reform program and adoption of necessary legislation in Parliament.
"I emphasize just crucial laws, but not political decisions," he said at a Government’s meeting on Wednesday, February 4.
"I consider it appropriate if the Government meets with the leaders of the parliamentary coalition to discuss both the cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund and the subsequent economic reforms much needed for the country", he stressed.
The PM noted that the Parliament was to take a political decision, a sort of depriving of an ex-presidential status for Viktor Yanukovych. "I do not know for whom he has remained the president...", added Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
"But after our consultations with the coalition members we will have to proceed to more practical decisions. Hard, those not always easily perceived, but vital for the country", he stressed.
The Prime Minister expressed his belief that "the parliamentary coalition in synergy with the Government and the President of Ukraine will continue pursuing the proper reforms and bearing a joint responsibility for all the decisions", “And each day we will have less populism, more pragmatism and more emphasis on concrete results, but not on short-term political dividends, which disappear quickly."
