Greece would like to resume the import of Lada cars
OREANDA-NEWS. Greek entrepreneurs discuss with AvtoVAZ the resumption of Lada car supplies. The head of the group of trade and economic relations in the Russian Embassy in Greece, Valery Nikolaev, informed the agency "RIA Novosti".
"There is such a large company - Namco, the only company, which is producing passenger cars in Greece. Its products - car Pony - are sold partially in the Greek market and it is sold mainly in the markets of Asia and Africa. This company applied us to help to establish the contact with AvtoVAZ", - said Mr.Nikolaev. According to him, the Greeks would like to buy the car engines together with a manual gear box, transmission and other parts in the Russian company.
"We helped to establish contacts with the export division of AvtoVAZ. The Greeks sent their proposals, they are studied. Now we wait for the results, how it will develop this promising deal. It can enrich the structure of our exports, which consists by 95% of energy resources", - remarked Mr.Nikolaev.
In recent years, the supply of Russian cars in Greece were stopped practically”, - according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority Elstat, it was delivered only one car Lada in Greece in 2012, and in 2013 - none. Meanwhile, it can be often found "Niva" on the road, reviews about which are the best from the Greeks.
"The demand for "Niva" was and it is. The only thing that interferes with it – is all sorts of bureaucratic obstacles that we have in the European Union in the export of finished products from Russia", - said Mr.Nikolaev. "In this case, it is so-called "Euro-5" and the latest bureaucratic innovation - mandatory presence of sensor of tire pressure. While the sensors are not installed, it is not allowed to enter the car in operation, that is, you can bring the car, but have not received the documents for the operation until you have not installed tire pressure sensors", - he said.
Meanwhile, AvtoVAZ intends to adapt the Lada cars under the new requirements of European technical regulations by May of 2015. After work on the implementation of the air pressure sensor in tires, the company plans to resume sales of Lada in Europe. By mid-year AvtoVAZ will also refine models Granta, Kalina and 4 ? 4 to the ecological standard "Euro-6".
