(head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, president & CEO: Isao Moriyasu, hereinafter “DeNA”) and Sumitomo Corporation (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, president: Kuniharu Nakamura, hereinafter “Sumitomo”) will establish a joint venture in order to start a new service named KenCoM (Kenko [“health”] reCommendation Media), to support health insurance societies.

Under the concept “from sickness care to health care,” DeNA is developing its health care business from the viewpoint of disease prevention. DeNA, having strength in the development and operation of IT services, and Sumitomo Corporation, capitalizing on its capabilities in establishing business models and corporate sales, will now set up a joint venture to launch the KenCoM service. Working together with health insurance societies developing the “data health plans” being promoted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the joint venture will also focus on assisting health insurance societies to promote disease prevention projects, pursuing the goal of achieving 10 million users.

- Users are provided with tailored information and advice taken from various information sources, including columns and reports written by health specialists
- Information that matches the interests of each user is selected and displayed based on the user’s browsing history regarding health-related topics

About data health plans
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare requires all health insurance societies to analyze data, including statements of medical expenses, and to establish and implement a “data health plan,” a project plan aimed at maintaining and promoting the health of the insured. Each health insurance society is requested to launch its plan on a full scale starting in fiscal 2015. By analyzing and utilizing electronic data of health check results and statements of medical expenses, it has become possible to implement health-related projects responsive to the health condition of the insured more effectively and efficiently.
