OREANDA-NEWS. Ulyanovsk plant has sent a notice to the regional employment service about a possible optimization of personnel. The company may reduce the number of employees in April 2015 by more than 2,400 people. However, the final decision about this issue was not taken yet, said the representative of UAZ informed "Za rulem.RF".

"A formal notice about the reduction of 2400 people at UAZ from April was sent in December of the last year to the employment service. But it is common practice - the notification, which reserves the possibility of the employer to optimize the staff, but the decision to cut is taken by the Director, after which it is issued an order and it is started the notification of the staff. We have not taken such a decision; such an order is not prepared. Reductions are not planned, "- the representative of UAZ informed "Za rulem.RF".

According to Ulyanovsk media, layoffs at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant can affect more than 3,000 people with account of the "daughters" of car plant, including more than 300 people at the "UAZ-AUTOcomplekt" and more than 400 people at the "UAZ-Techinstrument". The number of personnel in enterprises of UAZ is about 8000 people. Reductions are connected with the economic situation and the drop in sales.

The representative of the UAZ said that at present time the company plans to produce in the first quarter of 2015 about 11 thousand cars. "Thanks to the orders of corporate clients and announced continuation of the program of parc renovation, the car plant has a stable load for the first quarter of 2015", - noted in the company.

UAZ started to build vehicles for the first time this year on January 26th. The company stopped the production at the end of December and it introduced a corporate vacation. Meanwhile, the plant in January raised retail prices for new cars by 30 thousand rubles. Basic UAZ Patriot increased the price from 649,000 to 679,000 rubles.
