According to the agency “Auto-Dealer-Yekaterinburg", it was sold 78,857 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Yekaterinburg in 2014, which is less by 16% compared with 2013 year. In December, it was shown the best result of sales at the end of one month in 2014. Car dealers in Yekaterinburg sold 8395 cars, which is less only by 3% than in December of 2013.

The leader of the city car market remained Lada, which reduced sales by 17% (up to 10,042 vehicles). Among foreign brands Toyota took the first place (7680 units, + 1%). If you take the results of November and December, then the Japanese brand has become the absolute leader of the market, which allowed it to reach the first position in the rating of foreign cars. Last year's leader - KIA - was only in fifth place overall with an index of 6020 sold cars (-23%).

In the top 10 for the year only three brands - Toyota, Renault, Nissan - showed a positive trend in sales. While at the rest top ten brands, sales declined by more than 10% (and in some cases, 30%). It was defined by a strong decreasing of the market in 2014.

"The December excitement that was caused by the fall of the ruble, coincided with the end of government program of parc renovation that influenced the record result of December”, - said the director of “Auto-Dealer-Yekaterinburg", Michael Chaplygin. – “The figure we won’t see in Yekaterinburg soon. 

The first half of year will be characterized by a quite strong fall in the beginning, and then a gradual recovery of the market under influence of the launch to a new recycling program of cars.

The share of Yekaterinburg in relation to the all-Russian car sales for 2014 was 3.2%.

"Judging by the end of the year, in the near future in the top ten by sales of cars in the city it may appear Datsun,” - says Mikhail Chaplygin. - The position of leaders in many respects will depend on the flexibility in the formation of the cost of cars. Especially it will be important at the beginning of the year."
