Delta's Iceland to New York Service Returns for Summer 2015 Delta's Ic
OREANDA-NEWS. Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) will once again be offering nonstop daily flights between Reykjavik's Keflavik International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport for the 2015 summer season.
Starting May 2, the U.S. airline has scheduled a Boeing 757 aircraft on the route, which is operated in conjunction with Delta's joint venture partners Air France and KLM.
"Figures from the Icelandic Tourism Board show that there was an almost 30 percent rise in the number of U.S. visitors to Iceland in 2014 compared to the previous year," said Perry Cantarutti, Delta's senior vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa. "Delta is proud to help facilitate this growth while also allowing increased choice for Icelanders travelling to the U.S., with improved facilities at New York-JFK and over 60 convenient onward connections to destinations throughout the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean."
Delta's Iceland services feature up to 24 seats in a premium cabin with a wide range of dining options. Customers flying in Economy Comfort, Delta's premium economy service, benefit from up to four additional inches of legroom and 50 percent more recline than Delta's standard international Economy class seats, as well as priority boarding. Throughout the aircraft, all passengers will have access to on-demand in-flight entertainment.
As one of Delta's hub airports, New York-JFK has a number of amenities for passengers, including multiple food and retail outlets. Terminal 4 has recently been extended by 11 gates, allowing for streamline travel for those connecting at New York-JFK. Terminal 4 is also home to Delta's largest Sky Club, featuring an open air Sky Deck rooftop terrace and specially-selected food and beverage options. All business passengers enjoy complimentary access to the Sky Club.
