Transaero Ranks among Top 20 Safest Airlines in World
OREANDA-NEWS. The online edition of Aero International has published the list of the top 20 safest airlines in the world according to the annual ranking of the JACDEC German Research Center, which studies safety of air transport.
This year Transaero Airlines occupies the 17th position in the ranking. The airline has been occupying the highest positions among Russian airlines in the JACDEC rating for five years in a row.
JACDEC has been developing for 12 years the annual list of the largest airlines in the world, sorted by their Safety Index, which is based on eight criteria."Flight safety has always been and remains the top priority of our company", said Olga Pleshakova, Transaero Airlines CEO, "Transaero was a pioneer in Russia to introduce Safety Management System. All divisions of the company work in accordance with this system. The fact that Transaero Airlines has consistently occupied the prestigious positions in international safety rankings is the result of high professional level and responsible work of the personnel."
The airline is IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certified. The airline conducts pilot training and carries out its flight operations in accordance with the highest international standards. Transaero's Technical Department has all the necessary national certificates as well as the certificates of other countries and world aviation authorities to provide MRO services for the aircraft in its fleet. Transaero's Aviation Training Center is licensed to conduct training of aviation specialists allowing them to work in Russia and abroad. The airline processes and analyses 100% of operational flight data, which demonstrates performance of flight crew or aircraft systems during each flight.
In the end of 2014 Transaero Airlines has once again successfully passed the audit of operational safety IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit). Upon the airline's request, the audit was carried out in accordance with the strictest standards "ENHANCED IOSA", which are to enter into force in September 2015.Moreover, in September 2014 Transaero Airlines successfully passed the regular EASA Part-145 audit of the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA, which confirmed the highest level of Transaero's fleet maintenance operations. This audit confirmed the compliance of Transaero's MRO services with the high standards as well as the airline's rigorous control over the technical state of its aircraft.
