China’s Kangbao County Inks Deals for 1,9 GW of Wind, Solar
OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2015. The local government of Kangbao county, Hebei province, inked a series of deals, amounting to CNY 21 billion (USD 3.38bn/EUR 2.91bn), for the construction of 1.9 GW of wind and solar farms, local media reported.
More specifically, the contracts involve the development of eight renewable energy projects. Seven of them are going to be photovoltaic (PV) power plants with a combined capacity of 1,600 MW. They will require an investment of some CNY 18 billion. In addition to the solar facilities, the county stuck a deal for 300 MW of wind power capacity, valued at CNY 3 billion.
Further details have not been disclosed at this point.
Kangbao county falls under the administration of Hebei province’s city of Zhangjiakou.
