Moldovan Hydropower Plant Increases Electricity Generation 28%
OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2015. In 2014 the installed capacity of the plant - 2,250 MW – was used 17.64% compared to 13.79% used in 2013, it was said at the plant.
The heat supply increased 17% to 136,700 Gcal. In 2014, the fuel balance of the plant included the gas share of 99.67%, the coal share of 0.18% ad the black oil share of 0.15%. In 2013, the shares were 76.12%, 23.66% and 0.22% respectively. The 28% increase in the power generation and the growth of the installed capacity utilization factor are explained by a growing demand for power from domestic and foreign consumers.
The demand, in its turn, grew because of different reasons, including low temperatures in the winter period. The change in the structure of the fuel balance of the plant was caused by the changed fuel policy of the company aimed at using most energy- saving and most eco-friendly generating capacities.
