RF, Moldova Discuss Possibility of Deliveries of Apples
OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2015. According to the report of the Rosselkhoznadzor, representatives of the Russian authorities held a telephone conversation with the National Agency for Food Safety of Moldova, which took place at the initiative of the Russian side, and were devoted to the possibility of resuming deliveries to Russia Moldovan apples.
It is emphasized that the National Agency for Food Safety Moldova has expressed its willingness to formally present Roselhoznadzoru security guarantees apples, as well as a list of Moldovan farmers interested in their deliveries. The sides noted the necessity for audit by Rosselkhoznadzor of the Moldovan system that guarantees compliance with such supplies of both Russian and international quarantine of phyto-sanitary requirements.
Earlier, the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert said that Russia will lift restrictions on the supply of fruits and vegetables for Moldova only on the condition that they it will provide phyto-sanitary security. Russia has banned the supply of fruits and vegetables from Moldova from July 21, 2014, and imports of Moldovan canned fruit and vegetable production to Russia was suspended from July 18, 2014. Prior to the ban, Russia was the main market for Moldovan apples.
