OREANDA-NEWS. Izhorskiye Zavody, part of OMZ Group, completed production and delivery to the customer of a pressurizer for the third power unit of Tianwan NPP (China).

On January 20 a delegation from Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) and NIAEP visited Izhorskiye Zavody in order to take delivery of the equipment and to discuss further cooperation with the company. The Chinese delegation was headed by the Deputy General Director of JNPC Liu Zhaohua.

Besides signing documents concerning delivery of the pressurizer, guests also inspected Izhorskiye Zavody facilities and got acquainted with production process of equipment for the second phase of Tianwan NPP.

According to the contract signed in 2010 Izhorskiye Zavody produces primary coolant equipment with VVER-1000 reactor unit for the third and fourth power units of Tianwan NPP. In 2014 Izhorskiye Zavody completed delivery of VVER-1000 reactor vessel and a set of four steam generator vessels for the third power unit of Tianwan NPP to the customer.

We have to remind that Izhorskiye Zavody produced and delivered primary coolant equipment for the first and second power units of Tianwan NPP. First and second units were put into operation in 2007. An improved Russian project was used for construction of the NPP. The majority of experts recognise the plant as one of the safest nuclear power plants in the world. High quality of produced equipment guaranteed further constructive cooperation between Izhorskiye Zavody and its Chinese partners.
