OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2015. The INCE economists say that 2014 was memorable for a number of events of economic, social and political nature, which inevitably affect the national economy.

At the same time, several key achievements, on the one hand, reflect the success of the undertaken measures and on the other, opens up new opportunities for the country in the short, medium and long term.

Among them: the signing in June 2014 of Association Agreement between Moldova with the EU, which includes the creation of a free, deep and comprehensive trade of Moldova with the EU, as well as their provisional entry into force in September 2014. The experts note that the implementation of these agreements may provide for Moldova a more rapid conversion from the transition to the market economy and competitiveness.

Another achievement of the last year is the liberalization of the visa regime for short-term travel of Moldovan citizens to the EU, and this event was preceded by a number of actions undertaken by the country's leadership: ensuring the security documents, including the introduction of biometric passports; border management and migration, prevention of organized crime, terrorism and corruption. On the fourth place in the list of achievements of the year was the signing of a contract between the Romanian OMV Petrom (SNP) and the Moldovan Energocom reached about the gas supplies to Moldova Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline from January 1, 2015.

The experts note that the power supply of this gas pipeline is small, but, nevertheless, this event is important in ensuring the energy security of Moldova. In addition, INCE economists noted the progress of Moldova in the international surveys and rankings. Thus, Moldova has improved its position in the ranking of the World Bank Doing Business - 65-s (+17 lines); "The International competitiveness index 82nd place (+7 lines).
