Automakers Do Not Change Plans in Russian Market
OREANDA-NEWS. Automakers are in no hurry to revise their schedules for the launch of new models in the Russian market, despite the economic crisis, the decline in sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles and disappointing forecasts for the near future.
So, Mitsubishi this year will launch new Outlander and L200, in 2016 - the new Pajero Sport, and in 2017 - the new Pajero and ASX, writes "Za rulem.RF." Chinese Lifan in 2015 will introduce two new models at once - compact crossover X50 and business-class sedan Lifan 820. In 2016, the company plans to open in Russia sales of large urban crossover Lifan X70 with 2,0-liter turbocharged engine with 6-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
This year Russia will present new Suzuki Vitara, which with the existing Suzuki Grand Vitara has little in common. The crossover will compete with Mazda CX-3 and Opel Mokka and it will appear in the second half of the year at a very competitive price. But regard to the C-Class sedan, Suzuki Olivio, there is no decision yet to be made; it is depending on the market situation.
Chery in the second half of the year will launch a new Tiggo 3. Ford will have this year new Mondeo, Focus and Fiesta. Volkswagen model range in January was added by the updated Jetta, and in mid-2015 it should be a new Passat. There will be new items from Audi - A1, Q3, RSQ3, TTS, while Skoda will have the new Superb.
Nissan will produce a model X-Trail and Qashqai in St. Petersburg, on Monday at the plant "IzhAvto" it was begun the assembly of hatchback Tiida, date of occurrence of which is still unknown by the dealers. The Russian market is promising and his recovery is only a matter of time, experts believe. 2016-2017 years will be marked by recovery, and then begin to rise. Therefore, those companies that now move to new models will benefit.
Meanwhile, according to forecasts of Automobile Manufacturers Committee AEB, Russian sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in 2015 will fall at least by 24%. However, market experts believe that it is still too optimistic forecast - a fall can be even 40%
