OREANDA-NEWS. From midnight on Jan 1, 2015, all diesel fuel sold in the gas stations of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corp) and Sinopec (China Petroleum & Chemical Corp) in Hechi was replaced by stage IV automotive diesel.

Inhalable particulate matter (PM10) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5), the deadliest forms of air pollution, are endangering the environment. Since one of the sources of atmospheric particulate matter is motor vehicle exhaust, an important means to reduce exhaust pollution and improve the air quality is to enhance the quality of automotive fuel. The wide usage of stage IV automotive diesel is expected to decrease the amount of PM10 and PM2.5 in the air.

The replacement transitional period of stage IV automotive diesel was from midnight on Dec 1 to Dec 31 in 2014, during which gas stations could sell both stage III and stage IV automotive diesel.

Hechi’s relevant functional departments will strengthen supervision and inspection of the diesel market to ensure the adoption of stage IV automotive diesel in the city.
