OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2015. Constructed by the Nanyang Longcheng Group, the Xichuan county natural gas project was recently officially completed and brought into use. The pollution free clean energy is now available to the first batch of more than 2,000 residents. Xichuan county becomes the second county accessing natural gas in Nanyang city in Central China's Henan province.

The natural gas mainly consists of methane, which does not contain any toxic or hazardous substance. The natural gas is sulfur free and has no pungent smells.

As a new type of clean energy, the natural gas has enormous advantage when compared to other forms of gas, diesel, coal, and electricity. With a high calorific value, natural gas is economic, safe, and pollution free.

The advantages of natural gas have been gradually accepted by Xichuan residents. The natural gas can not only be used in the home, as a new type of energy, but it can also be broadly used in commercial areas such as by taxis and mineral enterprises.

As the core water source area and the origin of the middle line of the national south to north water diversion project, Xichuan county will protect the environment and guard its water source for residents in Beijing and Tianjin.

In order to deal with air pollution and environmental safety problems brought about by traditional types of energy, Xichuan county has actively developed and utilized new types of clean energy. In addition, the county made acceptance of the new energy one of its ten civilian projects of 2014.

The natural gas construction project in Xichuan county is a part of the national West to East Gas Transmission project. Constructed by the Nanyang Longcheng Group, the total investment has reached 60 million yuan (USD9.67 million).

Up to now, the main part of the project has basically been completed. The urban pipe network has covered seven blocks and 25 kilometers. The major pipelines along the Jiefang Road and the Renmin Road have been put into use. The crossing project of the pipelines has been completed. More Xichuan households will access this type of clean energy in the future.
