OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2015. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) is pleased to announce that Deloitte has been named a global leader in the Kennedy Vanguard of Supply Chain Risk Management Consulting Providers in Kennedy’s Supply Chain Risk Management Consulting, 2012-2015 report covering the supply chain risk market.

According to Kennedy, supply chain risk management consultancies fall into a number of distinct segments, corresponding to their approaches: risk specialists, technology specialists, supply chain specialists, operations management, and multi-service. None of these has emerged as the winning model for delivering supply chain risk capabilities; each offers distinct advantages and disadvantages.

“Deloitte recognizes that clients are demanding new insights to drive continued and increased value from their operations, with risk related issues sitting at the heart of the operations agenda,” said Simon Brew, Global Supply Chain Services Leader DTTL. “Deloitte member firms are pleased to be identified among the leading providers of risk supply chain services.”

“Supply chain risk continues to rank among the top concerns of executives, especially because of the potential impact to a company’s brand and reputation. The report noted Deloitte’s strength in integrating supply chain and overall enterprise risk management –- which is what clients recognize us for,” said Henry Ristuccia, Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP in the United States.

Key findings:
“Of the multi-service firms that deliver supply chain risk consulting services through supply chain, operations, and risk practices, [Deloitte] achieves the greatest combination of breadth and depth.”

“In addition to its [Deloitte’s] leading risk practices, [Deloitte’s]supply chain and operations practices are not only the largest in the industry, but also can tout deep technical knowledge including, for example, food science and engineering experts.”

“[Deloitte’s] “Risk Intelligent Enterprise” approach to risk management emphasizes integrating risk into companies’ decision-making processes at the strategic planning level and across the value chain. It’s a comprehensive program that spans governance, infrastructure, and processes embedded in business units. Inasmuch as this approach inculcates a common organizational language around risk, it facilitates the sort of cross-functional capability that is instrumental in managing supply chain risk.”

“Deloitte manages to combine breadth across the key supply chain, operations, and risk segments with sufficient depth to compete in the top tier of each one.”
