Troll gas production capacity cut
OREANDA-NEWS. Production capacity at Norway's giant Troll swing field has been reduced by 15mn m3/d because of process problems.
The capacity restriction is consistent with a halt to associated gas production at the Troll B and Troll C platforms. The gas-producing Troll A platform has a capacity of 104.7mn m3/d, and the field as a whole can produce up to 120mn m3/d at peak output.
The outage began early yesterday evening, stripping output capacity by 11.8mn m3/d and was initially expected to last for ten hours. But the outage was revised just after midnight local time (23:11 GMT) to continue into today, reducing output capacity by 15mn m3/d. Offshore system operator Gassco initially advised that the restriction could last for up to two days, but later said that the outage should be resolved by the start of tomorrow's gas day.
Norwegian pipeline exports to Europe slowed heading into the start of today's gas day to 299.5mn m3/d, from 319mn m3/d over the weekend. But receipts quickened through late morning, reaching 332.4mn m3 by the early afternoon.
