OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2015. According to the National Bank of Moldova, purchases of foreign currency on the internal cash currency market increased 7.1% to USD208.5 million, the sales increasing 22.3% to USD 126 million.

In the total turnover of FX cash, transactions with EUR were dominant as before and reached USD 182.9 million, being 54.7% of the total turnover, up 17% month-on-month. Purchases of EUR grew 14.3% to USD 109.4 million, sales of EUR increasing 21.3% to USD 73.5 million. Purchases and sales of USD increased 17.4% to USD 103 million month-on-month, making 30.8% of the total turnover.

The purchases grew 9% to USD 58.3 million, the sales rose 30.7% to USD 44.7 million. Transactions with RUB amounted to USD 43.6 million, 13% of the total turnover, down 10.1% as compared with the previous month. Purchases of RUB decreased 10% to USD 38.5 million, the sales decreasing 10.5% to USD 5.1 million.

Transactions with RON were USD 3.8 million, 1.1% of the total turnover, up 2.7% month-on-month. The purchases of RON declined 10.5% to USD 1.7 million, the sales increasing 16.7% to USD 2.1 million. Purchases and sales of UAH amounted to USD 1.2 million in the reporting period, 0.4% of the total turnover and down 14.3% month-on-month. The sale and purchase of UAH dropped 14.2% to USD 0.6 million each.

As compared with November, in December a share of transactions of USD grew 1.3 p.p.; transactions with EUR increased 2.2 p.p.; a share of transactions with RUB decreased 3.3 p.p.; the shares of transactions with RON and UAH reduced 0.1 p.p. each.
