OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2015. CTC Media (NASDAQ: CTCM), a leading Russian independent media company, today announced the official launch of a mobile game based on the network’s popular Molodezhka TV series.

The game was developed and released in cooperation with Game Insight, a gaming industry leader. The new game, which is in the simulation genre, is the first fully-developed mobile game to be based on the series and released in the Russian market.

Yuliana Slashcheva, CEO of CTC Media: “We are pleased to bring this innovative product to our market. As the first fully-developed online game based on the Molodezhka TV series, this project is an important step in our continued efforts to diversify revenue streams. We are currently examining opportunities to expand this project by bringing the Molodezhka game to other markets and by creating new games based on other popular CTC Media programs – all of which would eventually reside in a CTC Media “game world.”

The game was developed in October 2014 and has been available for download since December 15, 2014. Since then, the game has been downloaded by over 500,000 users. While the game is free and does not require a subscription, players can enhance their experience by purchasing virtual, in-game items and currency using rubles.

Alexey Pivovarov, Director of the Multimedia Projects Department: “Our game complements the content package that we have developed around Molodezhka, which includes the Second Screen mobile app as well as the numerous digital and social networking platforms connected to the series. We plan to develop additional interactive options for viewers, including social media and web-based formats of the game.”

Molodezhka is one of the most successful digital and multimedia TV projects. During its first season, online episodes of Molodezhka were viewed about 600,000 times. Over 300,000 people have downloaded the mobile app, with one out of four users accessing the app every day. The number of users increased to 772,000 after the app was updated with revolutionary Second Screen technology. Molodezhka’s social media following has also expanded, with over a million users of social networking website VKontante following the show.
