Norilsk Nickel Switched to SAP
OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2015. In January, personnel management system based on SAP software was launched in the head office of MMC Norilsk Nickel.
All the basic HR management processes such as staff administration, organizational management, work time logging, payroll, professional training management, social programs management and staff analytics are now automatized by SAP HCM system.
Successful transition to commercial operation of the system was preceded by the study of the current business processes and creation of a unified corporate template, implementation of organizational changes, full-time training for users, system configuration, testing and data migration.
The key role in the project was played by the Company's team, employees of the head office of MMC Norilsk Nickel, the Polar Division, Kola MMC and large scale operations of Norilsk industrial region. Employees were actively engaged in designing business processes and shared their professional knowledge and experience.
Implementation of SAP HCM delivers a number of advantages for the Company in general and for each employee in particular. On the Company’s scale it's an opportunity to obtain reliable and detailed information regarding staff followed by the boosted efficiency of personnel management. Middle and senior managers will have complete visualized easy-to-grasp information about their subordinates: payroll data, vacation schedule, leave applications, certificates, training details and other issues.
As for staff, implementation of the project shall simplify application procedures: applying for certificates, emergency leaves, clarifying the number of unused vacation days, business travel procedures. An employee will be able to print out his/her own payroll sheet.
