Power Machines Manufacture Steam Turbine for Blagoveshchenskaya TPP
OREANDA-NEWS. Power Machines, a primary contractor for the second stage of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP construction, has manufactured and successfully tested a 120 MW steam turbine intended for the power unit under construction.
Test results proved compliance of main electrical specifications to their target values, as well as full compliance of the equipment to the requirements of standard technical documentation. The turbine will be shipped from the industrial site of Power Machines in December 2014, and its delivery to the power plant's construction site is scheduled to complete by the end of February 2015.
Currently, Power Machines OJSC is installing boiler cradle and components manufactured by Taganrog boiler-making works Krasny Kotelshchik at the power plant's construction site; so far, deaerator installation has been completed. Fabricated parts of the boiler are being shipped in accordance with the schedule.
The contract for rendering prime turnkey contract services for construction of the second stage of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP was concluded between Power Machines OJSC and Blagoveshchenskaya TPP CJSC in December 2013 following tender results.
In accordance with the contract terms, Power Machines OJSC, acting in the capacity of a general contractor, constructs the second stage of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP. Thus, the company will effect a full range of construction, installation and commissioning activities and manufacture and supply all the necessary equipment, including major power generating equipment - a steam turbine with capacity of 120 MW complete with an own-produced turbogenerator, a pulverized-coal fired boiler produced by Taganrog Boiler-Making Works Krasny Kotelshchik (an affiliated company of Power Machines OJSC), along with power and unit transformers, which will be produced by Power Machines Toshiba High-Voltage Transformers LLC (a joint venture between Power Machines OJSC and Toshiba Corporation).
The second stage of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP is one of the four projects included in the RusHydro investment programme for construction of new power facilities in the Far East, implemented in cooperation with RAO Energy System of East JSC, in pursuance of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. After construction of the second stage, installed power capacity of the power plant is expected to increase by 120 MW up to 400 MW and its thermal capacity - by 188 GCal/h up to 1005 GCal/h. Annual output will reach 464 million kWh, and the annual electricity supply - 427.0 million kWh. The power plant is to be fuelled by coal mined at the Yerkovetsky open-pit coal mine (Amur Region). The construction project completion is scheduled for late 2015. Blagoveshchenskaya TPP CJSC (a 100% subsidiary of RusHydro JSC) acts as a customer and developer of the project to construct the second stage of the largest thermal generation facility in Amur Region. Comprehensive management of activity of all RusHydro subsidiaries (customers and developers), which were specifically established to construct thermal generation facilities in the Far East, is exercised by JSC "RAO Energy System of East," operated by RusHydro Group.
