OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2015. This was reported by the Romanian Embassy in Moldova, noting that in this way Romania reiterated its position of the Moldova largest trading partner.

At the same time, against the background of the Russian embargo Moldova decreased export of vegetables and fruits by 9% to 236.9 euros. Imports fell up to USD104,6 million, which is 6% lower than at the same period of the previous year. According to the NBS, the export of Moldovan goods from commodity groups “Food and live animals" for 11 months of 2014, in comparison with the same period of 2013, increased by 20.5%- up to USD 564 million, and imports from the same group decreased by 2.5% up to USD 492,2 million.

According to the official statistics, in particular, Moldovan exports of meat and meat products in January-November 2014 almost doubled in comparison with the same period of 2013, amounting to USD 33.5 million. Imports of the same products increased by 23.7%- up to USD 52.5 million. The export of grain and its products grew by 51.9 percent up to USD 187,1 million, imports- USD68.3 million (-8,3%).

The export of sugar, products made from sugar and honey amounted to USD 58,9 million (increasing by almost 2 times), and imports of the same products - USD 16.6 million (-54,5%). Exports of the commodity group "Dairy products and poultry eggs" made up USD 13.4 million (-5,9%), import - USD 39.8 million (-7.3%). Exports of coffee, tea, cocoa, spices and products from them amounted to USD 6.2 million (+2.6), imports- USD 49 million (-3.5%). Exports of animal feed (except for un-threshed grain) made up USD 19.4 million (increasing by 2.4 times), import - USD27.3 million (+25.6%). Export of various food products and drugs amounted to USD 2.1 million (-10,4%), imports- USD 73 million (+3%), the export of live animals - USD 6.4 million (-5,6%), imports- USD 16.3 million (increasing by 2.1 times). Imports of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and aquatic invertebrates to Moldova amounted to USD 44.8 million (-2,6%).
