BMW Group Sales Reduce in Russia by 16.9% in 2014
OREANDA-NEWS. The BMW Group Russia in 2014 sold 37,254 BMW and MINI cars, which is less by 16.9% than a year ago. In mid-summer there was adjusted sales plan due to the decrease in consumer activity. It was extended the offer in the popular segment of models BMW X: sales of the new BMW X4 and BMW X6 of the second generation started. BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series continue to occupy a leading position in their respective segments in Russia.
In 2014, it was sold 35,504 BMW vehicles against 42,071 the previous year in the Russian market (-16%). In autumn it was opened two showrooms of innovative BMW i brand in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Sales in Russia began with the innovative sport car BMW i8: until the end of the year it was sold 7 cars. Also in 2014, it was sold another electric BMW i3.
MINI cars in 2014 found 1,750 buyers in Russia - it is less by 38% than the year before. In 2014, the MINI brand introduced several new products in its core segment, also sales of the new MINI 5 doors started.
