OREANDA-NEWS. Superavtomarket "Formula 91", the leading car trade company in the Russian market of cars with mileage, reviewed the results for 2014. Last year, it was observed contradictory trends in the market for used cars: a strong position at the beginning of the year, which compares favorably the secondary market from new car sales, a gradual decline in sales in the second half of the year and the explosive growth of sales in December, due to the devaluation of the ruble. Taken together, it has led to some changes in the structure of the market, as well as higher prices for used cars.

The results of the Superavtomarket "Formula 91", in 2014 the average price of a car with mileage was 540,592 rubles (an increase of 16.8% compared to the year 2013). The third consecutive year, the most popular car with mileage becomes Ford Focus, and its main competitor Volkswagen Passat is gradually losing its position. Business sedan Toyota Camry closes the top three of sales. The "classic” model Lada 2107 is ranked the fourth in the ranking of sales Superavtomarket "Formula 91". The company notes the rising popularity of business-class sedans such as the Nissan Teana and Toyota Camry, as well as improvements of positions of the most popular models on the primary market such as the Renault Logan and Hyundai Solaris, which took 12 and 17 seats, respectively, by increasing significantly the popularity in the secondary market due to supply growth.

The most popular is still sedan body (36% of sales), followed by the hatchback (15% of sales), almost catching up by SUVs, whose share, including crossovers, was 14.5%. Minivans are in fourth place - 13.5%, the fifth – estate cars - 9%. Other types of bodies collectively scored 12% of sales. It should also be noted a gradual increase in the popularity of diesel cars. 76% of sold cars were vehicles with petrol engine, 24% - with diesel (in 2013 there were only 16%).

"2014 has become very difficult for both, the primary and secondary car markets. High volatility, unpredictability of demand, limited supply growth make it difficult to predict the situation in 2015”, - says CEO of Superavtomarket "Formula 91", Ruslan Ermachkov. – “However, at this moment, we expect that the first quarter, despite the low season, will be better than in previous years, as the purchasing power is still "warmed up" by customers from neighboring countries. There may be some lack of range, as many automakers removed from sale expensive, liquid cars, fearing bad bargain. However, further sale on the market will depend on the improvement of the situation with lending, as well as general economic and political situation.”
