OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2015. Estonian gambling company Olympic Entertainment Group said it will tackle the casino market in Malta with a new casino costing up to 7 million euros.

The 2,700-square-meter casino will be opened during the second half of the year at the Malta InterContinental hotel in St. Julian's and will be named "Casino Malta by Olympic Casino."

“For years we have searched for possibilities to expand into popular holiday areas and today we are able to take a huge step towards realizing the expansion ambitions,” CEO Armin Karu said, adding that finding a local partner was key to the project.

Olympic's partner in Malta, Eden Leisure Group, will invest 30 million euros into the hotel complex surrounding the casino.

The group is active in all Baltic nations, in Poland, Belarus, Slovakia and Italy, employing 500 people in Estonia and 2,200 across Europe.
