OREANDA-NEWS. On January 4, 2015, at E.ON Russia Surgutskaya GRES-2 fire outbreak and oil slobbering occurred in the turbine room near STU No. 4 which was under unscheduled current repair of turbo feed pumps.

After the local fire two bays of the turbine room roof over Power Unit No. 4 collapsed.

The staff of the station took immediate measures aimed at extinguishing the initial fire. The forces of the station staff and fire departments of Surgut managed to eliminate the fire source.

4 people sought first aid. They all refused to be hospitalized.

According to preliminary data, the fire occurred as a result of violating the rules of scheduled maintenance when repairing Power Unit No. 4.

In course of the accident elimination, efficient interaction of the GRES and E.ON Russia management, the regional subdivision of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the authorities of Surgut and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area was organized. More than 400 people worked day and night, including the staff of the station, the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Surgutneftegaz, Sibpromstroy LLC, and other organizations.
 
Currently, at Surgutskaya GRES-2 a temporary heat contour has been arranged to cut off the working areas from the roof collapse zone, and the temperature regime in the Steam Turbine Units machine hall has been recovered.

Commissioning of Power Unit No. 5 with the capacity of 800 megawatt has been scheduled for January 19, 2015. It will take at least half a yera year to repair Power Unit No. 4 affected by the accident.

Up to date, all the needs of the station for facilities, equipment, and other resources required to perform the accident recovery works have been entirely satisfied. All the required metal castings, thermal insulating materials, and fuel have been.

Steam Turbine Units No. No. 3, 4, 5 with the capacity of 800 megawatt each and CCGT Unit  No. 7 with the capacity of 400 megawatt are under scheduled repair.

Currently, four Units of the station from the eight Power Units of Surgutskaya GRES-2 are being utilized to supply power to the consumers of the Tyumen electrical power system: STUs No. No. 1, 2, 6 with the capacity of 800 megawatt each and CCGT No. 8 with the capacity of 400 megawatt.

There are no restrictions and problems related to electric power and heat supply.
