OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2015. The grants will be provided within the post-investment grant programme "Sustainable Land Management" under the World Bank funded project “Competitive Agriculture in Moldova”, the Agriculture Ministry informs.

The grants will enable the enterprises to cover up to 50% of the money spent on the agricultural equipment. In 2014 two rounds were held to select beneficiaries of the programme. Within the first one 42 applications were filed and 33 were selected.

A number of the applications within the second round exceeded 80, with the results being known by the spring of 2015. The grants will be provided shortly via the Agency for Agricultural Payments and Interventions.

According to Programme Coordinator Olga Saincuic, a key goal of the grant programme is to preserve and improve soils through the use of environmentally friendly methods. That is why the priority will be given to the farmers using sustainable agricultural practices.
