According to him, the tax evasion and concealment of incomes is still a widespread practice, although in 2014 the State Tax Service took the measures and adopted the policies to encourage the voluntarily tax code compliance in taxpayers. However, the tourism, transportation, agricultural export, FX exchange and other sectors in 2014 were witnessing the tax evasion and income concealment practices. According to Ion Prisacaru, in 2015 the State Tax Service is going to resort to coercive measures to stop the frauds, such as selective checkups, indirect evaluation of incomes, etc.
To give proper response to tax evasion, the tax service is going to be closely observing the work of law-breakers. Besides, more attention is going to be attached to the enhancement of skills of tax officers, who sometimes fail to do their duties in full because of the lack of competency, Ion Prisacaru said.
