Kazakh Vice Minister, Head of Mission of ADB Discuss Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2015. Kazakh Vice Minister of National Economy Timur Zhaksylykov has met with Dzhinling Yang recently appointed to the post of Head of Mission of the Asian Development Bank in Kazakhstan.
The sides discussed the possibility of implementing new regional projects in the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) and further cooperation in trade, energy, transport and trade facilitation in the Republic of Kazakhstan
"We support the proposal of the Asian Development Bank on the further implementation of the new regional projects in the priority areas of the CAREC Program," the national coordinator of the CAREC Program in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Vice Minister of National Economy Timur Zhaksylykov said.
The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) started in Kazakhstan in 2001 and is a partnership of 10 countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, People's Republic of China (PRC), Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan).
One of the major projects of the CAREC is Project "Reconstruction of the international transit corridor "Western Europe - Western China", which will greatly increase traffic on the Kazakh part of the international transit corridor " Western Europe - Western China", and thus increase the turnover of transit cargo, which will greatly increase budget revenues at all levels of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
