United coordination center on the SEZ management on the basis of JSC "Kaznex Invest" will be created in Kazakhstan, within the framework of the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on improvement of special economic zones," Vice Minister of Investment Yerlan Sagadiyev has said submitting the bill

"United coordination center on the SEZ management and development on the basis of JSC "Kaznex Invest" will be created with the transfer of state-owned shares of managing companies. The main objective of the United coordination center will be bringing the SEZ management to the international standards of management, and conducting marketing efforts to attract participants and infrastructure investors," Y. Sagadiyev said.

According to him, this center functions as a department, it employs 15 people.

The objectives of the center will include the creation of single workflow and unified management model in the managing companies, supervising the activities of the SEZ.

"Singapore Company "Jurong", which operates several SEZ informs us of the need for a single workflow, which will be understandable for investors in plain language, we have developed and implemented this workflow and the SEZ management model with all official powers in the Information Technology Park together with "Jurong" this year," Vice Minister said.

The functions of the center will also include roadshows and assistance in the development of legislation.

"We're going to strengthen managing companies to invest with responsibility, because Prime Minister secured for every managing company a political officer," he said.

The draft law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on improvement of special economic zones" has been developed in order to attract investments in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the further development of the SEZ.

As noted in the explanatory notes to the bill, the adoption of the document implies reduction of state revenues for a certain period and, on the other hand, growth of future state revenue by increasing the production and objects of the tax base.
