OREANDA-NEWS. NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and a Polish company Gaz-System S.A. have signed an agreement to construct a gas interconnection pipeline between Poland and Ukraine, which will enable Ukraine to pump from the EU about 10 billion cubic meters of gas.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced at a press conference on the outcomes of the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental consultations chaired by the Head of the Government of Ukraine and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland Ewa Kopacz on Monday, January 19.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that it is not gas reverse, "but it means an access to gas from the LNG terminals that have already been built in Klaipeda [Lithuania. – ed.] and Poland", "It also refers to the access of Ukraine to the German gas market as one of the most powerful and efficient markets in the European Union".

According to him, the interconnection pipeline would extend 110 kilometers, "The feasibility study should be completed in the first half of the year”.

Moreover, the PM informed that during the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental consultations there had been raised an issue of the Euro-Asian Oil Transportation Corridor, "This will also become the subject of a separate discussion in the framework of our bilateral economic commission".
